The Case for Painted Edges

quad_composition_LisaWoodward.jpg

As these little panels are about geometry, simple composition, and colour, I wanted them to continue over the edge, to emphasize their three-dimensionality. It’s been fun customizing the edge colours for each piece!

This is not normally what I do, but that’s not a good reason in itself to continue doing the same. Trying something different doesn’t always work for the better, but sometimes the results are surprising. And how do you find the sublime if you stick with the familiar?

Still, edges are a matter of personal taste. What’s yours?
